Mazowsze Family Picnic
Enjoy a weekend of musical treats in Karolin. Joining Mazowsze Ensemble on our outdoor stages will be special guests including the Representative Orchestra of the Polish Air Force and the Warsaw Sentimental Orchestra. Have a dance to the music of some great folk bands: Kapela Bródów, Kapela Borynioki and Iskiercznie and enjoy performances by Poltex and Ludowiacy Folk Song and Dance Ensembles as well as by country housewife associations from across Poland. Musicians from Mazowsze's Orchestra will perform a selection of classical pieces in the Chamber Hall. There is sure to be something for everyone at this year's Family Picnic.

Visiting the Centre for Polish Folklore
During the weekend, we are pleased to offer our guests free tours of the Centre for Polish Folklore. Tours will depart at designated times and the number of places will therefore be limited. Free passes for tours can be collected on the day from our marquee outside the entrance to Karolin Palace. Please note that on 11 and 12 June entry to the exhibition outside of these times will not be possible.

Traditional Craft Workshops
In the past, everyday utensils, instruments and toys were homemade or purchased from local craftspeople, who used materials which were readily available - paper, wood, grass or reeds - to create real works of art. During the weekend, we'll have the opportunity to create our own special items, under the watchful eyes of experinced folk artisans and artists. This year, workshops will involve making toys and folk instruments as well as wickerwork.

For Kids
The Mazowsze Family Picnic is an event like no other for kids. The FORMA theatre will perform on the main stage, while Mazowsze's choir will give a concert of popular children's songs in the park behind Karolin Palace. As well as workshops for our youngest visitors, the special Kids' Zone will feature bouncy castles, competitions and organised games. There'll be balloons, bubbles, face paints, ice cream and candyfloss - so everything children love the most!

Market Stalls
The picnic is also a great occasion to do some shopping at our market with regional products and folk-inspired arts and crafts, including cut outs, paper flowers, embroidery and lacework. Here you can meet award-winning folk artists and craftspeople from around Poland.  In the area between the Wawel Building and the Kids' Zone, guests can sample traditional specialities prepared by associations of country housewives and shop for bespoke, handmade products.

Food and Drink
Once you've worked up an appetite you can take a break and refuel in our food and drink area located outside Karolin Palace. A wide selection of delicacies will be available, from burgers to Belgian fries to Georgian specialities.
