Social dance with a folk band from Łowicz

Join us on 21 May for social dancing with a folk band from the Łowicz region. We’ll hear melodies characteristic for this part of Poland, including the kujon, oberek and polka, and will have the opportunity to try out some dance moves. This is sure to be a real musical experience, and a great occasion to enjoy traditional folk music and dance in a social setting.

Jeremi Kowalski's Band from Łowicz
Our guests on this occasion will be young musicians who actively cultivate their local traditions. Jeremi Kowalski’s Band was formed in 2020 and has already won a number of awards in folk competitions in Central Poland. The band’s repertoire is centred around melodies popular in the Łowicz region, which its leader, Jeremi Kowalski, has learned from the legendary local accordionist, Sławomir Czekalski or found in folk music archives. We’ll hear well-known dance melodies such as the kujon, oberek and polka and will have the opportunity to try out some moves in a relaxed, social setting.
