A Musical Summer in Karolin
The theme of this year's Summer in Karolin will be music and musical instruments. Join us for a series of events which will get you playing, singing, dancing and creating as we discover the fascinating musical traditions of a range of Polish regions.

Biskupizna Day in Karolin
Prepare for a great start to summer with guests from the Biskupizna region in Western Poland! Join us on Saturday 5 July for bagpipes, singing, dancing and tasty regional treats to sample, all courtesy of The Folk Group from Domachowo.

Traditional Drumming Workshop
The frame drum - enduringly popular among folk musicians - set the rhythm for past rituals and dances. Today, it continues to fascinate musicians and audiences alike, and the ability to play it is a coveted skill. Visit Karolin on Sunday 10 August for a remarkable opportunity to get to grips with basic theory and practice, learning some characteristic rhythms accompanying Polish traditional dances under the watchful eye of Mateusz Dobrowolski, master drummer from the Polish-Belorussian group Hajda Banda / Гайда Банда. This workshop is open to all, irrespective of experience.

The Healing Power of Gongs and Bowls
Sound therapy facilitates relaxation and stress relief, encouraging physical, mental and spiritual regeneration. Join us on Sunday24 August for a special session led by Joanna Romaniuk from Pokój Ciała, during which you'll get to experience the healing power of bowls and gongs for yourselves.
