To celebrate International Dance Day 2024, we'll be holding a special workshop focusing on traditional dances from Silesia. Our experienced instructors guarantee that a great time will be had by all, whatever your level of dancing experience!

Join us on 6 April to experience a taste of the rich folk culture of Upper Silesia. Our guests from the Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów and the Fedaków band will introduce us to the traditional dress, craft, music and dance of this fascinating and diverse region.

It’s hard to imagine a Polish Easter without the traditional wicker basket, which is taken to church for its contents to be blessed on Easter Saturday. During this year’s Easter market, you’ll have the chance to make your own, unique basket at a special basket-weaving workshop, under the eye of an expert craftsman.

A Polish Easter would not be complete without intricately decorated eggs. Particularly well-known are “kroszonki” from the Opole region, which are made by scratching intricate patterns onto dyed eggs. The ideal Easter gift or decoration, don’t miss the chance to create your unique own egg at this special craft workshop.

The Karolin annual Easter Market is back for 2024! Join us at the home of Mazowsze Ensemble to meet regional craftspeople and local artisans and to stock up on culinary specialities, regional products and folk-inspired arts and crafts.

Ribbons are a key part of nearly every folk costume in Silesia. The largest are used to decorate bonnets and garlands and can be printed or handpainted, most commonly with floral motifs. Join us for a craft workshop to celebrate International Women's Day, during which we'll be painting our own decorative Silesian-style ribbons which are guarenteed to add some colour and style to your outfits!

A talk about the life and work of Mira Zimińska-Sygietyńska, celebrated actress and singer, Mazowsze’s co-creator and longest-serving director on the anniversary of her birthday.

This year, we'll be celebrating the end of carnival with a fun-filled family workshop inspired by the folklore of Wilamowice, a town in southern Poland with a unique and fascinating history. We'll talk about the traditions and culture of local residents, make colourful carnival masks and wear them for a fabulous masked dance. We look forward to seeing you on 11 February!

Our guests from the Wilamowianie Association and the Wilamowice Regional Folk Group will introduce us to the language, traditional dress, craft, music, dance and cuisine of this unique cultural group.
