Celebrate National Independence Day and immerse yourself in Polish history and culture at the Centre for Polish Folklore in Karolin. Discover traditional costumes, music and dances, their significance in the struggle for Polish independence, and join our "national" dance workshop, led by Mazowsze Ensemble performers.

This workshop focuses on dances popular in the Sieradz region in Central Poland: the owijok, oberek and polka. Mazowsze Ensemble's performers will teach their basic steps and figures, before introducing participants to the stage forms adopted by the Ensemble. The workshop is open to all adults, irrespective of dance experience.

Explore the fascinating culture of the Sieradz region at the Centre for Polish Folklore. We'll be investigating traditional clothing, music, dance and old-style decorations, making our own, unique paper cut outs to take home as a souvenir.

Join us on 27 September for a day of music, dance and traditional craft. There'll be instruments, costumes, looms and culinary specialities to sample, all courtesy of special guests from the Sieradz region.

Please note that due to maintenance work, the Centre for Polish Folklore in Karolin will be closed to visitors on Saturday 30 August 2025. It will reopen on Sunday 31 August at 10am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The theme of this year's Summer in Karolin will be music and musical instruments. Join us for a series of events which will get you playing, singing, dancing and creating as we discover the fascinating musical traditions of a range of Polish regions.

Prepare for a great start to summer with guests from the Biskupizna region in Western Poland! There will be bagpipes, singing, dancing and tasty regional treats to sample, all courtesy of The Folk Group from Domachowo.

Join us on Children's Day for a unforgettable trip to western Poland! We'll be taking a close look at Mazowsze's intricate costumes, which are inspired by folk dress from the Biskupizna region, and having go at traditional dances featuring some very interesting props.

It’s that time of the year again! This year's Night of the Museums will be focused on dance, and on the story of the founder of the remarkable Mazowsze Ensemble, Tadeusz Sygietyński . There’ll be plenty going on between 6pm and midnight, so make sure you join us and stay to the very end!
