Concerts
Mazowsze's custom is to invite guest performers to join the Ensemble for International Dance Day concerts. This year, we are delighted to welcome soloists from the ballet company of the Teatr Wielki in Łódz, as well as students from ballet schools from around Poland, whose performances will be interspersed by those of Mazowsze’s choir and dancers. Mazowsze’s orchestra, under the baton of conductor Jacek Boniecki, will play Witold Lutosławski’s Little Suite as well as its classical repertoire. Join us for this unique and highly-anticipated concert.

Dancers in Polish national costume on stage
The Polish National Dances - dance workshop
How does one dance the stately polonez, dynamic mazur and fast-paced oberek? How does the kujawiak differ from the krakowiak? There are five Polish ‘ national’ dances, which in their heyday were known and loved well beyond their country of origin. It lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Meeting one of Mazowsze's Artists
International Dance Day is a great time to meet and get to know dancers we enjoy watching on stage. On Saturday 30 April at 14.00, one of Mazowsze’s most experienced soloists will be talking about dance education in Poland and what life is like as a professional dancer. Join us to hear stories about life on stage and behind the scenes in one of the world’s largest folk-inspired dance companies. Entry is free with a ticket for the Centre for Polish Folklore.
International Dance Day in Karolin is part of the #tańczMY programme, which is organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance
