Initiated in 2012 by the Polish Presidential Couple, Andrzej Duda and Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the campaign invites schools, public institutions, social and cultural centres and individuals to take part, uniting people around reading and deepening understanding of Polish literature.

This year, the National Reading campaign will focus on the work of poet, translator and playwright, Jan Kochanowski (1530-1584), who is widely regarded as the father of Polish literature.
